1. | If you have not been able to find a link to your article using the Library Search page, then use the options available in the left-hand pane to refine your search (Author, Journal Title, etc). | |
2. | If you still can't find the article you are looking for, or if there are too many search results, try using the Advanced Search option (beside the search box on the Library Search page). | ![]() |

If these options do not work then try selecting the ‘Tweak my results' / 'Expand My Results’ option (underneath the search box). |

This will expand the results to include those that may not be covered by the Knowledge Network subscription. (If the reference then appears, but with a link saying “No Full Text, Get It For Me”, see Point 5 below). | ||
4. | If the reference still does not appear then you could try searching online to see whether the item is freely available. If it is not available via Google or Google Scholar, then you can use the Citation Linker to make a request. See the guide, ‘Requesting an item using the Citation Linker'. |

5. | If the reference comes up but with a link saying “No Full Text, Get It For Me”, select that link for further options. | ![]() |
6. | There may then be a link to an Open Access version which will enable you to access the article free of charge. | ![]() |
You may also see details from the NHS Scotland print archive collection which shows that the article you are searching for is available in a print journal. These journals are not available for loan, but please contact us if you wish to access a photocopy from the print journal archive. | ||

7. | If there are no links to an Open Access version (or a print archive version) then click the link to 'Get It For Me' which will enable you to make a request for an online version of the article. | ![]() |
Move down to the Delivery Information section of the 'Get It For Me' page. | ||

8. | Ensure that the 'Format' button is set to 'Digital'. | |
9. | Select ‘GGC Resource Sharing’ as the Pickup/delivery location. | |
10. | Check that your email address is correct. | |
11. | The other fields should be left blank although you may leave a comment. | |
12. | Click the orange request button to send your request off. Articles for courseworks should be ordered through your educational provider. | |
