The University of Strathclyde offers a free Statistics course to all NHS staff. The course is funded by the Scottish Funding Council.
When you sign up, you will become a University of Strathclyde student and on completion you will be awarded 10 university credits and a transcript which can go towards professional CPD. As a student you will have access to university facilities and software packages for statistical analysis which you can download to your own laptop - you’ll even get a student card which gives discounts in various stores and cinemas!
The courses assume no prior statistical knowledge. You can choose to use Minitab or R Studio for the practical sessions. Since this course is worth 10 SCQF level 7 credits, there is short assignment which you will be required to complete at the end and you have to complete all 4 classes.
For admin purposes, you will have to complete a registration form, after which you will receive an email with details of how to register with the university as a student. This will allow you to access the relevant computer network and statistical software packages. Completed registration forms should be sent to ma-nhs@strath.ac.uk.
