NCVO, October 2019. Safeguarding resources.
NCVO (The National Council for Voluntary Organisations) in partnership with NSPCC Learning and 12 other organisations have developed safeguarding resources and guidance for the voluntary sector in the UK. The resources are created as part of the Safeguarding Training Fund, a jointly funded programme developed by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) and the National Lottery Community Fund. The resources are available on the NCVO website which signposts to partner sites.
Department for Education, October 2019. Sudden unexpected death in infancy (SUDI) in families where children are at risk of harm.
The Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel has announced a national child safeguarding practice review into sudden unexpected infant death (SUDI) in families where the children are considered at risk of harm. The review is expected to commence in mid-October and complete within six months.

A new resource called Upstream, which will enable adults and communities to prevent child sexual abuse, has been developed by the charity Stop It Now! Scotland, with support from the Scottish Government.

The National Child Protection Leadership Group last met on 4 September 2019. The group received an update on the Chief Officers’ Leadership Event which took place in June 2019. Members had an in depth discussion on The Expert Group on Preventing Sexual Offending Involving Children and Young People Report, which provided an opportunity for members to discuss the recommendations within the report in advance of publication.
