There are two ways to read an ebook: you can either view it online or download the book to your mobile device. Each method offers different advantages, and the one you select will depend on how you will be using the ebook.
View ebook online | Download an ebook |
Viewing an ebook online uses less storage space compared to downloading it. Some online books allow for multi-user online access. Some ebook providers allow you to search within the online ebook content; highlight sections; and add notes. An internet connection is required any time you want to view an online ebook. To quickly check a page or quote, viewing content online via a desktop PC is quicker than downloading the entire ebook to a mobile device. |
Downloading an ebook allows you to view the book offline, so it can be viewed any time, anywhere, and no internet connection is required. You do not need to remember to return the ebook. After a specified loan period, the ebook will automatically be removed from your mobile device. As well as downloading whole ebooks, some providers allow you to download specific page ranges or whole chapters. If the ebook has already been downloaded by another user, some providers allow you to reserve the ebook, so that you can download it once it becomes available again. |
